I was not feeling it today. My legs were killing and I didn’t want to run, but Anna pushed me to keep running. And then I pushed us up the hill right past the park in Washington. Overall I’m excited to be running again. Even though it’s hard for me to want to go to track

I just loved the workout today. It felt great. I stayed with Anna. Worked on my form, and finished just as strong as I started. Hailey stayed with us even though she was struggling and I can’t wait until she gets over her cough so she can start getting back up to our pace. I loved coach holt running with us for that first part. It sparked some conversation between our group, which was really good. And Bentley was able to run with us and definitely helped push us throughout the workout

It might have been because Ashlee and Anna weren't there pushing me, or I just hadn't rolled at all this week, but I only got 6 of them. I then I headed back to the high school.

It was so great to run again. I really gotta stop missing practice for stupid things like getting new glasses and getting my braces fixed. 

Anyways basically everyone was late for practice, and they all missed out on “the circle” joke. After warmups coach talked to us about finding a good reason to be committed to track. And honestly it’s hard to find one sometimes. But I’m gonna try to be at practice with a good attuned more, so I can keep getting better for XC. 

Okay so for the workout I was super bummed Anna and Hailey couldn’t do it. I just want them to get healed and be able to run with me everyday and every workout. However running with Maddie was lots of fun. She’s getting really good at staying with us, and definitely did better than last week. I’m happy to see her improving.

I wa very sore from yesterday. I definitely need to roll out more. The run was pretty good. Those hill circuits seem like they will be fun. Anyways so as I was running back by myself (cause Anna is injured) I was thinking about how I don’t really like track, but I need to get the motivation to keep running, so this is my plan. Everyday on here instead of saying something rad that happened, I’d instead write a reason that track is good, so when I feel like quitting I can come read them. 

Reason Track is Rad: Jessica Hill (because she and I talked for a little bit today and she’s super fun to talk to. I should talk to her more, but I’m always scared to cause she’s so cool.)

Aerobic Run w/ 2x5min at E Temp, 1x10min at Temp, 1x5min at Thresh w/ 3min rec between reps                       

I didn’t quite hit 60 minutes. My hip has been bugging me and my knee started to kill. Plus running by myself kinda sucks. Anna’s still not running. I’m not sure where Ashlee has been, and I’m not fast enough yet to keep up with anyone else. I’m working on it though, so if Anna can’t run for awhile I’ll be able to run with someone. The run was hard before I turned back. The turkey farm hill was long and steep as always, and then after that just more hills. I turned around a little bit before 30 because I wanted to make it back to the high school without completely dying. Running back was so nice and peaceful it was quiet and I just turned off my brain and ran back. Overall today’s run was rad

The trail run today was on the T-born trail. It was a cool trail. I ran in the back of the pack most of the way. At the end I fell off and had to walk up that big hill at the end a little. We finished it off on the road, and then sat around and talked. I felt really good about the run today

Six minute test went super well. I improved by 140 meters. And I was so happy. And I feel like I’m super close to breaking the six in the mile, which makes me super happy. The 2 hill circuits killed me and killed Anna even more. She probably shouldn’t have done them with her hurt knee.

Can I just say I love running and I love track! 

The run was super good today dispite the fact that Anna couldn’t run again today. I ran with Allie Brown and Jenna for the first 12 ish minutes in the front of the group and then started falling behind. By the time we got to the park I was in the back of the pack, and soon all the girls were out of sight. I didn’t let this get to me though and ran until I saw a few of the girls turning back. I looked at my time and saw that I said had to go about 10 more minutes out before turning around. I didn’t however and turned around at 23 minutes. Running back was hard, but at least it was running instead of a weird run/walk that I usually do when we head out on the river trail. When I got back I still had 10 minutes left to go, so I went around the school. At about 52 minutes I went to get my stuff and leave when I was reminded we had to do striders. So I went and did 6 of those and then chilled by the track talking to everyone.

Running on Saturdays is actually really fun. I really should do it more often. I think the last time I ran on a Saturday was back in November with Cam.

So after thinking about running since I woke up this morning I finally got into my running clothes around 3ish. However I discovered my watch was almost dead so I let it charge and thought about doing homework. (It is the thought that counts, right?) Once it was all charged I went out on my run. Decided where to go is really hard. I went out towards Chick-fli-a because I haven't been that way in awhile, plus I kinda thought about stopping and seeing Anna at work. I didn't go in though because I have these crazy sharpie tats on my arm and was all sweaty. I turned back a little earlier than I should have to get that negative split in, but I still got it in just had to run past my house a few times.

Today was a long run, and I was super excited to run with Anna. But because of work and her injurety she could only go out 10 minutes with me. (But it’s fine we got a good 10 minute vent session in)

After that I was off on my own, and my legs the whole time were screaming at me to stop and turn around. I went out 30 minutes though, and then went back, trying to keep up the same pace as best I could. Overall the run was great, and I’m just so in love with running right now.

Rad Thing of The Day: Anna made me the cutest (late) Christmas present. It’s two photo albums of us. One is specific to cross country, and has a bunch of great running quotes in it. The other is just us with a bunch of best friend quotes and inside jokes.

I wasn’t that excited for the workout. I’m not sure why but this week has been the longest week ever to exist for me and I just want it to be over. But the workout turned out to be good and on pace most of the time. There were a few paces I was too fast on, and I was slow on my first threshold. 

The workout was all by myself because Anna can’t do the workouts yet, and everyone else in my workout group is injured. (Side note I like these workout groups we started doing) on the cool down I did it with all the girls and Holt and Roberts. Holt kept me with them until I decided I had to turn back. As soon as I turned back I regretted it, I should have went the last 10 minutes with them. But I ran back to the high school and finished off my run. I just gotta get out of my comfort zone.

Also I skipped weights because I’m lazy. I really got to work on getting there next week.

Rad Thing of The Day: I got new glasses and two people actually noticed and told me I looked cute.

Warm up and easy tempo were good. Brynnli and I started the workout and hit the time every time. After 5, she had to go ice so I was by myself. I did 5 more, the first 2 were two fast, 3rd was right on, 4th way to Fast (cause coach holt helped corrected my form and I just went way to Fast) the 5th was right on and then I went and cooled down around the school with the girls.

Anna and I met at her house for a run out towards Dixie Rock. We left her house a little after 8 and just ran and talked the whole time. We decided to stick to main roads, and not run a trail, because we get lost too often. After the run we ate French Toast at her house (it was delicious). Really glad I got my Saturday run in first thing in the morning.

I had to shorten the run today so I could go take the driving test. Anna and me just talked, and the run was nice. I’m really mad at myself for missing my run yesterday, and this mornings run and weights. There wasn’t much I could do about this morning though, with my parents out of town it would have been hard to get there, but yesterday I had no excuse. It kinda sucks when you realize the only thing keeping you from getting better is yourself. I’m gonna try to work better on going and getting my runs in.

Also I did yoga today at young womens, it was super fun and relaxing. I think me and the girls are gonna try to do it at girls camp.

Honestly probably the best run of my life. I started off with the group as always. Before we got out of the neighborhood though I tricked myself into thinking I needed to walk. That was a mistake. As soon as I stopped Roberts yelled my name. I realized 2 things at the moment. 1) I didn’t feel like running by myself. 2) It hurts a lot more going slow.

So I speed up and got back into the pack. I was starting to die right before Artic Cicrle and I was super happy we stopped so a few girls could pee. (We ended  up leaving them behind a few minutes later tho) I stayed with the group the rest of the way and then flipped with Sylvia. I ranted to her and she was nice enough to listen. And then the run was done. I just feel so confident now and like I can stay with the pack more often now.

Didn’t have much time to run today, had to be home for dinner with the missionaries. But I did talk to Anna about what coach holt had talked about to us. 

I personally think that this idea is a great idea. For me personally, having this consequence of not getting my required minutes in, would push me to wake up and go to morning practice. Anna agrees. The only con I see to it, is the potential added stress to the coaches life of figuring out who go their required stuff in, before the meet. If they can figure out an effective way to get this done, then this plan will be perfect for our team.

Met with the team at a trail, (wow I already forgot the name)...anyways great run with Anna, ranting and talking the whole 65 minutes. Luckily didn’t get too lost this time. Going through that one tunnel was super scary though.

Rad thing of the day: trying a new French toast recipe with Anna

So this week is going to be super hard to get my runs in. I’m going up to park city with Madi and her mom and sister, and they aren’t gonna encourage me to run really. Luckily they aren’t morning people and I am, so I’ll just wake up and run before they even wake up probably. I’m more concerned about where to run, let’s hope that all goes well. I also don’t know about getting my doubles in, but I’m gonna try my best to figure it all out.

Also Random Thought: I wanna run varsity junior year, and besides Coach’s inspirational speech yesterday, I’ve been motivated by Cam. He told me that his senior year he never ever missed a run for any reason and that was also the only year he ran varsity.

Workout: 15min warm (w/ 5 ETemp), then 3-4x1200@ CVpace w/ equal rec, Hill Circuit, cool to time

First 1200 was a little slow, next one was a little fast, and last one was right on pace. Anna and Maddie were both behind me on the last two, wish Anna had stayed with me though. Then we went and did hill circuits, those were really good. Also it was hot, which I didn’t mind too much, it was nice to have a good sweat and I felt like I actually did really good today.

The 800 race went really well. I was leading for the first 100 or so, and then dropped back to second and soon to third. I was soon in 5th and then kicked it in at the end and took 2nd place. I PRed by 5 seconds, and have now placed the 800 as my favoirte race.

I went running on my own down mall drive. It was a pretty decent pace until I tripped and scarpped up my knee a little bit. The way back was an awkward run walk until I made it home.

Shoes have been bugging me a lot lately, it's definitely time to get new ones. Looking online to find some, hopefully I can get them by next week. Other than my shoes the run was really good. Glad I got 70  minutes in.

Well I’m back blogging and running everyday. After a good two break from track, I’m ready for XC. New XC goals are over on the right hand side, this year I’m never gonna miss a run.

As for the run today it went well. I woke up at 6 and went towards the river trail. I had a pretty solid pace the whole way. It was nice running by myself and just thinking things through. But I can’t wait to start running with everyone again.

Rad Thing of The Day: I got the April issue of Runners World and I just finished it today. All the articles were super interesting.

Todays run was good. I woke up a little later than I wanted to, and almost didn’t go, but I kept reminding myself of my goals this year and got my butt out of bed. The weather was really nice. I just love morning runs so much. It’s just the best way to start off my day. Even though today I tripped and fell. I scrapped up my knees kinda and ended up coming back slower than I thought I would. But other than that running has been great.
