Nice trail run. I love morning runs better than afternoon runs. My days always go much better. The trail was very rocky and hilly, and I twisted my ankle a lot but it was still fun.

Was not feeling good today and when Coach told us we didn't have to do the workout it was very tempting to do my short run, and just skip the workout this week, but I pushed through it and went and did the workout. Although I am behind and not quite in shape as Anna, I still did well and pushed myself. I really enjoyed the workout we did and hope most of our workouts for track are like it.

It's been awhile since I've been on here but I am going to start this back up. 

So today we had a workout and I decided to listen to what Coach Holt talked about yesterday and go intot the workout with a postive attitude, knowing I'm going to do great things. So I got in 4 400s all are on pace and 4 200s all on pace. I was very happy with myself and couldn't stop smiling from how fun and hard the workout was. I'm really proud of today and think I've got my determination and confidence back and I AM GOING TO DO GREAT THINGS!

I love grass runs, you just get to talk to a lot of people and get to know them. Plus splash them all with water. I also just love doing striders. They're my favorite. I did 7 of them. I was hoping to get 8, but I just got to tired and didn't want to kill myself the second day of practice.

Today was hard. I'm so sore from the last two days. I'm going to take what Coach said into account, and roll, ice, and strech to prevent any injuries. As for the run, I only had to walk twice, and Ashlee and Anna were there to push me. It's really nice to have running buddies, that know what you can do, and helps you do it. Really hyped for XC with them

Its so hard to get to bed on time, when my family stays up until 10 PM. I haven't been getting enough sleep, and have waken up late and been late to practice everyday. I was really sore as I started my run, but pushed through it to about 8 minutes before I had to walk. I walked for a short distance (cause Anna was there to push me) and turned around a little after 10 minutes. I walked a lot on the way back, talking to the new freshman. I love getting to know the new people on our team. I got back took off my shoes and joined Ashlee and a bunch of other girls in striders. I did 6 (the first 3 were easy, the last 3 were really hard). I then went over and talked to Hailey and Brianna and stretched.

Goals: Get to bed on time so I can be on time to practice. Talk to someone new everyday at practice. Roll and Ice

I was on time to practice...kinda. It was definitely an improvement. I'm getting there. Hopefully, I can keep making it on time. As for my run, it felt great. Anna and I had to stop to fix her watch at the very beginning of our run, so we were behind everyone. We then ran our 15 minutes on the road then went to the grass. The grass run was really cold. My feet were numb but I still got my minutes in and 6 striders.

I was late to practice today. I did not get to bed on time and woke up late. It was really disappointing that Anna or Ashlee was not at practice, and I didn't have anyone to run with. I did finally catch up with Landon and ran with him for awhile before him and the freshman boys got ahead of me. It was really nice to go a little longer than normal and I'm glad I got out of bed to go run.

Longest run of the season so far! Although I tripped during the run, I enjoyed running. The run was definitely hard because I'm sore from my hike on Friday and Saturday, but very proud of myself for getting 44 minutes. I hope to continue getting higher minutes.

I slacked off at girls camp and didn't run at all. Getting back in the groove of things was hard, and I slept in today so I missed practice. I wasn't able to run until tonight and my parents told me I had to be back by dark, so I changed today's run with tomorrow's. I ran around my neighborhood with Austin for 21 minutes. I come back inside and my dad asked me how long we ran. Austin told him 21 minutes, and my dad said "Don't you have to run 25 to 30?" I told him yes and went out and ran 9 more minutes. Glad I have my family to keep my on track and make sure I'm doing what I'm suppose to do. It's really fun to run with Austin and just talk to him about life and his friends and everything. Austin is always talking about how he wants to run XC when he's older and how he wants to be fast, I tell him he's got to keep running everyday and make sure he takes care of his body. And now I've got to make sure I'm an example of that. In short, today's run was awesome.

It made me smile, that a few people asked me where I had been the day before. Because it shows that people really do notice when you miss practice. The warm up was really hard for me, I was in so much pain, even going at my slow pace. When I got to the dirt mile, Decker and his crew were just about to start, so I hopped in with them. I knew I wasn't going to be able to keep up with them, but that they would still be able to push me. I did 12 minutes of tempo and then run back to the school with Jason.

I love workouts, and couldn't wait to get started today. I started off at what I thought was a good pace, but turned out being too fast as I died off half way through the 4 minutes. After that I backed off a little bit, and did my 1:30's on pace. Then I did my 2:15 on pace too. I finished the work out with a nice solid cool down. Overall, I was pretty happy with this workout, I just gotta make sure I drink more water though out the day.

As for my race, it was fantastic. My start wasn't very good. But by the time we got into the dirt part I pushed hard and started to make up for the rocky start. I pushed through the pain and focused on the girls ahead of me. I saw 3 d-hill girls ahead of me and made it my goal to pass all 3 of them and beat them. I passed all 3 at one point but one beat me at the end. I was only about a second behind her. My goal for this race was a sub 23. I got 23:02!! Ugh soo close. But I'm still happy with how close I was. I know I can get those 3 seconds shaved off and hopefully a whole minute by region. Very happy with myself and excited to see what other great things I can do. And what my team can do.

Running first thing in the morning is my favorite thing to do. It just gets my day off to a great start. I started out kinda fast, and slowed down after I crossed 2450. Anna and me ran together the whole way, and probably let each other slow down too much. That's one of the problems with running with just her everyday, we're both too comfortable with each other, and haven't been pushing each other very much. That's definitely something I need to work on. Either pushing Anna more during normal runs, or pushing to stay with a new group that's faster than us. Both will get us where we want to go.

Grass run was nice and chill. I got super muddy though from the grass and it took forever! (okay like one minute) to clean it all off. I like grass runs, it's just a nice chill time to run with a lot of different people and talk to them about life. I only talked to Anna today, but I should try to talk to some other people too next week.

There's definitely a lot I can work on to get better, but goals for this week are

1. Blog everyday. And not just minutes, but details about my run or the day and how I was feeling

2. Support my teammate better, weather that be reading and commenting on their blogs, or pushing them through the runs, workouts, and races. Or even just talking to them at practice.

A lot of different things last week made me keeping thinking about getting out of your comfort zone, and that's something I need to keep working on, now and for the rest of my life.

I made a goal for this run to not walk or slow my pace. I did really good and got lost in thought as I ran out. On the way back I was still lost in thought, and wasn't focusing on the pain. I was into the neiborhood on the way back from artic circle, when Bryanna caught up to me, she told me to go with her and so I did. We had a big group by the end. I was really happy Bryanna pushed me, usually I slow my pace on the way back but instead I went faster and felt great after\wards. I got back to the hs and did my 200s. When I waited for my mom I streched and am just about to go roll and ice. Today was a great day, and I hope to keep having more this week.

I turned back before they did and even though my legs were in so much pain and I could barley breath, it was one of the best runs I've had in a long time. It was kinda hard for me to breath the whole time, but i got use to it and was able to do the full 60 minutes. I was going to go to morning practice but after yesterday’s run I decided I needed to sleep in. I was excited for the workout, plus Anna could run with me the whole time. We did the 3k 5k 8k 8k 5k 3k workout. It felt really good. The last 3 minute coach holt come and ran the last 20 seconds with us pushing us through it. The rest of the 3 minutes coach Roberts was yelling at Anna to push with me, and everytime he said that I would go faster. During the workout, everytime I wanted to walk, I would think of Nike and how I want to PR at the race.

It was really hard to get up for the workout. I did it though, and Cam and I were early to practice. I was excited for the workout, this is proably my favorite kind of workout that we do, and I was excited that Cam was there too. There were only 8 girls there. Anna sadly wasn't one of them. I ended up by myself after about the second half of each set. But seeing the girls not too far ahead was encourging. Everyone of them stayed together, expect for Addi and me. Addi did get up there during the 3rd and 4th set though, and I was really proud of her for doing that. Cam ran with me on the last CV, he apoligezed for not running with me the whole workout, but I was fine. The girls ahead of me gave me the push I needed throughout the whole workout. During the second set, coach told me I had good form, and I tried to keep that good form the rest of the workout. Overall the workout was great.

Hey look at me I'm actually running in the morings again. But sadly I slept in until 6 am. I ran into green springs and pass the two churches, which is a or farther than I’ve ever gone. I kept glancing at my watching, waiting for it to hit the 25 mark so I could turn around, but once it hit I just wanted to keep going. I did turn around though and got lost in thought on the way back. My thoughts were broken when the varsity boys passed me, and coach holt told me good job. I ran back even faster than I went out and had to do 3 or 4 minutes around the school to complete my 50 minutes.

The workout was killer today, I had thought that it would go well. I was excited for it and felt great during the warm-up. But as soon as we started our first 1000 I couldn’t keep up with Anna. The second one was a bit better, and the third was probably my best, the fourth killed and I knew Anna was probably dying too. And the last one was pretty good, I was a little off pace on that one. I liked doing two sets of striders though. One and the beginning and one at the end. The workout turned out pretty good. But my legs are killing, I’m going to roll and ice tonight for sure.

I don’t really see the point of running right now if I’m not going to be racing until after my 2 week break. But it can’t hurt and Anna and I both agreed our break is starting next week. (And Cam signed me up for a 5k for tomorrow so I can’t stop running yet). Anyways so I got over to Anna’s a few minutes late and we ran to the trial. A few feet into it there’s a barbed wire fence with a hole in it to get through. And guess what? I ran straight into the top of it and I was trying to step over the the bottom part. I know have a battle scar on my forehead right where my glasses smacked my face. Anna laughed as I tried not to cry from the pain, and then were on our way. The trail we were on had lots of sand, and the path was badly marked. (Or I’m just blind) because I got us lost. And we decided now that we were lost we would continue on our lost path. So we kept running until we found a main road. When we got up to the main road I saw some tunnels and wanted to run through them, so I did. Anna didn’t like it, plus we couldn’t get on the road from that side of the tunnels so we went back and got on the road and ran back to her house. Today’s run was a fun adventure, and I’m very excited for more to come
