I was really nervous for the race, I'd never race more than a mile on the track and wasn't sure how I would do. I was hoping around a 15 16 minute time, and I got 14:20, so I'm really happy. My first mile was about 6:50 ish so I slowed down during the second mile. I'm going to work on that. I liked racing 2 miles on the track and I think I'm going to try it during track season.

Knowing I had a 70 minute run made me not want to even go to practice. This week has been really hard for me, and my body and especially my mind are ready for a break. I think this weekend will be the break I need. Anyways the run was fun. We went pretty fast out, and slowed down the whole way back. Doing the hills helped us keep our speed up though. Anna and I were only planning on doing 65 minutes, but because of how long it took for us to get back, we got 70.

It was really hard to get up for the workout. I did it though, and Cam and I were early to practice. I was excited for the workout, this is proably my favorite kind of workout that we do, and I was excited that Cam was there too. There were only 8 girls there. Anna sadly wasn't one of them. I ended up by myself after about the second half of each set. But seeing the girls not too far ahead was encourging. Everyone of them stayed together, expect for Addi and me. Addi did get up there during the 3rd and 4th set though, and I was really proud of her for doing that. Cam ran with me on the last CV, he apoligezed for not running with me the whole workout, but I was fine. The girls ahead of me gave me the push I needed throughout the whole workout. During the second set, coach told me I had good form, and I tried to keep that good form the rest of the workout. Overall the workout was great.

Hey look at me I'm actually running in the morings again. But sadly I slept in until 6 am. (Okay that was a weird sentence, I can't believe that 6 is sleeping in for me) So I went running with Cameron. We ran down Mall Drive, and hopped on that trail down there. We did a fast finish, and that felt great. I'm glad I got a little bit of a run in, but I'm for sure going to be at practice tomorrow moring and Thursday, no sleeping in.

Ashlee and Anna talked about form, and our plans to fix it. I’m going to work on looking forward, instead of down. As for the run, it was good. We ran down to 2450 and back.

I actually made it to weights! I benched 5, deadlifted 25, and squatted 35. I also did 60 100 ups. And was actually taking them seriously today. Not doing them just to do them.

The run started off bad. I could barley run to Hart’s. I wanted to turn back so bad. But I got through it and about 15 minutes into my run it felt good and solid. I ran into green springs and pass the two churches, which is a or farther than I’ve ever gone. I kept glancing at my watching, waiting for it to hit the 25 mark so I could turn around, but once it hit I just wanted to keep going. I did turn around though and got lost in thought on the way back. My thoughts were broken when the varsity boys passed me, and coach holt told me good job. I ran back even faster than I went out and had to do 3 or 4 minutes around the school to complete my 50 minutes.

The workout was killer today, I had thought that it would go well. I was excited for it and felt great during the warm-up. But as soon as we started our first 1000 I couldn’t keep up with Anna. The second one was a bit better, and the third was probably my best, the fourth killed and I knew Anna was probably dying too. And the last one was pretty good, I was a little off pace on that one. I liked doing two sets of striders though. One and the beginning and one at the end. The workout turned out pretty good. But my legs are killing, I’m going to roll and ice tonight for sure.

Rad Thing of The Day: Anna likes this boy, and the boy said something really cute to her and I thought that was rad, but she thought it was creepy.

I went to weights but because of some lame band practice at 7 I couldn’t go running, which made me really sad. I should have just been late to the band thing.

The run was great. I felt great the whole time, even going up that hill by sunrise tires. I love running the fore master loop but I didn’t think I could make it in 50 minutes so we turned back and went back down that hill. Coming back Ashlee would not let me slow down or even just be behind her. Me and her stayed together the whole way back, expect right after 2450.

Run started off great and ended great. I hadn't felt very good throughtout the whold day but once I started running everything just melted away. This is why I love running it allows me to forget my probelms and just run. Going up the hill was really fun. I love running up that hill, it hurts but the feeling of making it to the top outweights the pain. And going down outweights both. I also love doing long runs. I just get to talk to my friends the whole time about anything and everything. This is why I miss Anna and ashlee so much when they don't show up, or can't stay with me. 

Rad Thing of The Day: This moring my mom told me about her gang she use to be in called the "Rad Gang" it was her and her best friend from high school that were in it. I thought it sounded pretty rad. Anyone want to make a cool rad gang with me?

Running by yourself in the dark is scary. So I went to my neighborhood and ran there for a little bit before heading back to the high school.

It was a nice run, Anna, Ashlee, Landon, and me all ran together and talked about Landon’s movie. We ran a pretty solid pace and it felt pretty great.

1-2-1-2-3-4 minute with 4-3-4-3-2-1 minute recovery

I was expecting a workout but was happy about it none the less. It was sad that Anna had to leave, and every time Roberts said “find your teammates” I had no teammates I could run with. I tired a few times to stay with the girls but it was just too fast. I definitely slowed down on the last 2, probably because I was going too fast on the other ones.

Anna and me decided to stay with the girls at least to Harts. And we did it and on for about 10 minutes. Then we fell off for a few minutes, but they caught up to us in the way back and we stay with them the rest of the way there. It felt really good to be able to run with them. I’ve found if I want to stay with them I have to be in the middle. When I’m in the back I just kinda give up and fall off.

 

Rad thing of the day: Roberts analogy of pain and chocolate. A little bit is good, and a lot is even better.

Last race of the season went great. I was kinda disappointed about my time, but there isn’t much I can do about it now. I’ll I can change is the way I train for the next race...which the next XC race isn’t until next season. Oh man it’s so sad that cross season is already over, and that I only have two seasons left. But these last two seasons are gonna count, and I’m gonna get a varsity spot. Ready for track and ready to start getting some new mile PRs

I’d like to start off by saying never let me lead the trail run.

Anna and I decided to meet at her house at 9 am for a run on the trail by her house. To say I was exciting would be lying. I don’t really see the point of running right now if I’m not going to be racing until after my 2 week break. But it can’t hurt and Anna and I both agreed our break is starting next week. (And Cam signed me up for a 5k for tomorrow so I can’t stop running yet). Anyways so I got over to Anna’s a few minutes late and we ran to the trial. A few feet into it there’s a barbed wire fence with a hole in it to get through. And guess what? I ran straight into the top of it and I was trying to step over the the bottom part. I know have a battle scar on my forehead right where my glasses smacked my face. Anna laughed as I tried not to cry from the pain, and then were on our way. The trail we were on had lots of sand, and the path was badly marked. (Or I’m just blind) because I got us lost. And we decided now that we were lost we would continue on our lost path. So we kept running until we found a main road. When we got up to the main road I saw some tunnels and wanted to run through them, so I did. Anna didn’t like it, plus we couldn’t get on the road from that side of the tunnels so we went back and got on the road and ran back to her house. Today’s run was a fun adventure, and I’m very excited for more to come
